Different locks. Different questions.
A phone can have more than one restriction. An unlocked SIM status does not answer whether Activation Lock, organization management or a blacklist record is present. Choose the check that matches the question you need answered.
SIM lock: is a carrier restriction reported?
The SIM lock check requests the available SIM or carrier-lock record. A reported locked status concerns a carrier restriction; a reported unlocked status does not establish Activation Lock, ownership or compatibility with every SIM and plan. If you also need the network named in the available carrier or activation-policy record, review the separate carrier-and-SIM service.
Activation Lock: is Find My reported as on?
The iPhone Activation Lock check requests the available Find My / Activation Lock status. This is separate from a carrier lock. A reported-off record does not prove ownership or guarantee activation. Before buying a used iPhone, complete setup with the seller and check whether it requests a previous owner's account. A record lookup cannot remove the lock.
Device management: is organization enrollment reported?
The Apple device-management check requests available MDM or supervision-enrollment information. An organization-managed device can have restrictions separate from its SIM or Activation Lock status. A returned record does not guarantee that enrollment or restrictions will not appear later. Check the device's setup and management screens with the seller as well.
IMEI blacklist: is a lost or blocked record reported?
A blacklist check requests available lost, stolen or blocked records for the IMEI. It answers a different question from SIM lock or Activation Lock. A clear response does not prove lawful ownership or rule out a later report. Coverage depends on the selected service and available records; it is not a guarantee of access to every network or database.
Full reports: compare the actual field list
A full device report can request several kinds of records in one service response. The standard and extended reports have separate field lists and prices. Review the exact fields, omissions and possible results rather than assuming that a larger report guarantees every answer. Returned fields depend on the records available for the submitted device.
A completed request does not mean a clear device
Completed means the selected record request finished and its response was saved. The response may contain an adverse finding, missing fields or no matching record. Read the returned answer and its meaning, not only the order badge. Missing information is not an unlocked, clean or otherwise favorable status. Check the separate payment and refund status if the request fails.
Before you order
Match the identifier to the device in front of you, check whether the selected service accepts IMEI or serial number, and review its price and estimated processing time. Free identification checks the identifier's format and looks for a matching model; it does not check locks, blacklist records or ownership. Use the report together with device setup, the seller's evidence and your own inspection.
